This was my favorite of the bourne films, it gains a mythic quality with its opening where Jeremy Renners character confronts the wild in Alaska. Then Renner's character is like Bourne, except he has gained intelligence due to some scientifically dubious pills, but an interseting portrait of a man trying to keep what he has gained from the government which wants to strio it away. then I love the ending "I was hoping we could stay lost" she says as they head off into the wild, figuratively this time, hiding from the government. The earlier movies were a better adrenaline rush, but this one made you care for the characters more, it had a lyrical poetic quality as well as intense action pieces.
I was waiting for the movie to end so I could go home and sleep. It was so bad. What a shame. Why do movie critics give good ratings to crappy movies, and crappy ratings to good movies? There were so many holes in the plot that Swiss cheese would be envious. For instance, how did Cross know where the scientist lives? Did he Google her? Was she someone he trusted? What was so special about Cross needing the watch at the house, and why did he steal that watch from the lab director. Made no sense. Too many holes. I want my $10.00 back.
Doug - I will be in LA Tuesday, August 21st and then Thursday through Saturday night, the 23rd-25th. In Hermosa the second half of the trip. Let me know if you're around as I would love to see you. -Jon
I just watched this flick... it was a great ride....
Are you sure this isn't another Bond flick? How can you tell? No Matt Damon, no Jason Bourne.
