Comics-inspired spy thriller serves up spicy stew of action and attitude while skewering secret agent cliches.
I this 3 1/2 stars (with 4 reserved for academy award nomination type films) . Easily the most entertaining and fun film I have seen in a while and my friends who attended with me seconded that assessment. I don't want to post any spoilers, so I will just say that the performances were outstanding, the film kept you engaged, at times it was hilarious, and it blended the serious with the over the top seamlessly. My only quibble is in agreement with Sullivan's review, the lisping affect of Jackson's character quickly becomes tiresome and annoying. I don't agree with his assessment of the ending scene of the last big action sequence - it was not crass in my book, but a funny and fitting end to the movie.
