Next to the Cherry blossom trees and the Tidal Basin. A beautiful walk in DC through a stylish, informative, historical perspective of the time of Roosevelt.
It's a lovely walk, and showcases the tidal basin area well. But it's overly large, and seems to be trying to be both museum and memorial. FDR always said that he wanted a memorial no larger than his desk. This is a bit larger than that.
I love to take visitors here at dusk. The shadows and the sounds of the water are magnificent. On a practical note--also great restrooms if you are sightseeing or biking and need a clean place to stop.
Fantastic monument to a great president. It traces his administrations and the impact he had on a difficult time in our history. Do not miss this one.
