You'll find National Colonial Farm nestled in Piscataway Park, a national park managed by the Accokeek Foundation. It includes five miles of trails, picnic tables and a fishing pier. That's one of the key elements of the park, which is right down the Potomac River from Washington. "We are so close to D.C., but you feel like you are so far away," says Linda Reid, who works in the park's visitors center. "You're out in nature. It's a beautiful setting, it's quiet, you're on the river." And bring your camera, because from the pier you can see Mount Vernon across the river.
