Old Maryland Farm

Editorial Review

While not quite as ambitious as larger living-history farms in the area, Old Maryland Farm still delivers where it counts: with 70-odd animals, including goats, sheep, chickens, rabbits, peafowl, turkeys, a hog, a donkey, a cow and a pony, all in an easily negotiated semicircular arrangement of pens. Produce and herb gardens round out the agricultural attractions. The staff is energetic and welcoming and the farm offers a relatively inexpensive birthday party package. Watkins Regional Park also features a miniature train, a miniature golf course and a (full-size) carousel and nature center.

Words to the wise: "Livestock Lunchtime" is the best time to be here. Visitors can assist in feeding the animals Tuesday through Sunday at noon.
