Best place to complete a degree in world music

A married couple who met while students at Mali's Institute for the Young Blind, Amadou & Mariam were slow to go eclectic. When the duo began recording in the 1980s, they specialized in gentle Afro-folk, with just two voices and Amadou's guitar. Eventually, they got the hang of globalization, working with such Western producers as Damon Albarn and Manu Chao. Parts of their latest album, "Folila," were recorded in New York, with members of such diverse groups as Scissor Sisters and TV on the Radio. But the essence of the couple's music remains their interlocking vocal harmonies and guitar lines.
