No partner or experience required. Dress is casual. No reservations needed/pay at the door. Carpooling recommended. The best public transit option is the Ride On 29 from Friendship Heights. To arrive before the lesson, choose the 7:25 bus; the 9:00 bus will arrive just after the dance starts. http://preview.tinyurl.com/rte29saturday for the full schedule; wmata.com's trip planner is another useful resource. Feel free to use this invite to arrange rides back to Metro after the dance; we'll put a dedicated post on the event (https://m.facebook.com/events/383400621789121) as well.
We all know Craig Gildner as the leader of local favorite Blue Sky 5 (+2). Did you know he now lends his considerable skills to leading a big band? Well, we did and we are bringing them to Glen Echo on Saturday, Sept 21st to make sure you do too!! Made up of some of DC's finest, the Craig Gildner Big Band, brings you a swinging night of the classics of the swing era. Growing up listening to the music of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Harry James, Louis Armstrong, Sarah Vaughn and more, Craig really enjoys being able to present the music he loves with a full-size big band. We'll teach a beginning swing lesson from 8:00 - 9:00 pm. Then the CGBB will play from 9:00 pm - 12:00 midnight.
