Small crowd, minimal excitement

Up-and-coming rapper Vinny Chase lacks polish and an audience at local gig

Once a movie theater in a Northern Virginia shopping plaza, Jaxx is the place for loud, hard rock: American and Euro metal, death metal, speed metal, punk and pretty-boy hair bands, even Southern rock. This is meat without potatoes, with appropriately massive sound and light systems. There's a dance/bounce-around floor and a raised mezzanine for better viewing. The club also has the most colorful and entertaining Web site of any local venue. Check out the site's "Calendar" page.
