Led by conductor Nicholas McGegan, the BSO performs works by Beethoven and Haydn including Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, "Choral," with the Baltimore Choral Arts Society and soprano Katie Van Kooten, mezzo-soprano Mary Phillips, tenor Thomas Cooley and bass-baritone Andrew Foster-Williams.
Led by music director Marin Alsop, the BSO presents Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring," Barber's "Medea's Meditation and Dance of Vengeance" and the BSO premiere of Osvaldo Golijov's "Rose of the Winds," performed with Galician bagpiper Cristina Pato, klezmer clarinetist David Krakauer, kamancheh player Kayhan Kalhor and hyper-accordionist Michael Ward-Bergeman.
