Hungry for a New Art Space? Check the Fridge.

Washington's newest art space, the Fridge, opened quietly in Capitol Hill last week with the premiere of magician David London's quirky performance piece "(Insert Title Here)."

On Saturday, the Fridge will officially celebrate its first exhibition, the first solo gallery show by Washington pop artist Decoy (real name: Alicia Cosnahan), who has risen to prominence with her street art. The show, titled "Memento Mori," will feature large-scale paintings loaded with religious iconography from her youth.

According to owner Alex Goldstein, the gallery will define itself with a variety of young urban artists: Tim Conlon and Cory Stowers painted the side of the building, and upcoming exhibitions include shows by Trevor Young and Borf. The gallery's name, the Fridge, is a nod to the mission: "There's lots of good stuff inside, and it's all fresh," Goldstein says.

After the opening, stick around for "(Insert Title Here)," a 75-minute show.

The free reception for Decoy is Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday. "(Insert Title Here)" is Friday at 9 p.m., Saturday at 10 p.m. and Sunday at 5 p.m.; it continues Fridays at 9 p.m., Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. through Oct. 4. London's children's show, "The Adventure to the Imagi Nation," is Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 to $10.
