Ringmaster Andre McClain hosts "Built to Amaze," a circus show with animals, acrobats, clowns and other characters. At the Patriot Center.
Home of the George Mason University's Patriots basketball team, this approximately 10,000-seat indoor arena is better suited to hosting sporting events than hosting the big-time pop music acts that play here when passing through the D.C. area.
The pop shows tend to draw a massive high school and middle school crowd. The seats aren't painful, as far as stadium seats go, and the sightlines are decent. Unfortunately, the sound system can make even the best live performer sound like a low-fi indie rock band at times. If you care about the acoustic quality of live shows, be forewarned.
