Cherry Kiss’s performance simply uses the renowned director’s works as themes for a series of stripteases.
As a fan of Kubrick films and neo-burlesque shows it was a pretty perfect fusion of the two worlds. In Kubrilesque these worlds are stuck together with a minimalist musical theater framework that comes off across as very avant garde... it forces you to think about what you were shown, just like a Kubrick film. Being familiar with the source material and the neo-burlesque scene I loved it. I can see how those not versed in either might be slightly confused by what the show is going for, but even so it's full of great music, dance and costuming. Definitely unforgettable.
