National Memorial Day Concert

Please note: This event has already occurred.
If there's one Memorial Day event that's quintessentially D.C., the "National Memorial Day Concert" is it. This nationally televised concert on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol is co-hosted by Gary Sinise and Joe Mantegna, with remarks by retired Gen. Colin Powell. The long list of performers includes: The National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jack Everly, the Military District of Washington, the U.S. Army Chorus and Herald Trumpets, the U.S. Air Force Singing Sergeants, the U.S. Navy Band Sea Chanters, the Soldiers' Chorus of the U.S. Army Field Band, Daughtry, Natalie Cole, Trace Adkins, "American Idol's" Jessica Sanchez and British classical musician Russell Watson. The grounds fill up early, so it's best to arrive around 5 p.m., when the gates first open.
