The Catholic University of America Benjamin T. Rome School of Music this year's piano festival, featuring a young pianists showcase, a faculty concert and recitals by pianists Alexander Kobrin and Peter Frankl as well as the Alessio Bax and Lucille Chung Piano Duo. At the Ward Recital Hall.
For the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Catholic University of America Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, CUA students and faculty members will perform a year-long series of Beethoven's 32 piano sonatas. At the Ward Recital Hall.
The music department at Catholic uses the Ward Recital Hall. This charming building was originally intended as a facility for a school of liturgical music; consequently, it resembles a chapel. Of particular note is the use of this hall by the university's Music Theater Research Project, which stages concert versions of historic musicals. The project has revived such early Broadway musicals as "Florodora," "Sally" and "Irene."
