Find a macho dining room, macho staff, macho meals. Try the memorably crisp and wickedly greasy fries, onion rings and hash browns.

First visit to DC. Washington Post guide was a great help!! We had to go back to Bobby Van's twice in one week. The steak, & lamb chops were great. The service was amazing. We had Oscar wait on us and he made us feel like royalty. So we asked for him the second time and we weren't disappointed. We ordered different menu selections that were just as delicious. Oscar made the night! He guides you through the menu and specials and makes sure you have a fantastic meal and dining experience. We found the prices to be very fair compaired to the other restaurants we visited in DC. Our advice...Go to Bobby Van's...and ask for Oscar and you can't go wrong!
Visited the restaurant last Staurday for DC restaurant week at 9 pm reservation so not very crowded. Even though they had a fixed menu the food was just average. The wait staff did not even fill up the water glass and hardly spoke, seemed like a freaking robot. The food was served in about 5 minutes, faster than McDonalds. We had a three course meal in about 35 minutes which was a joke for a fine food establishment. Oh, the steak came with 6 little french cut string beans which was completely inappropriate...Will never go to this place again!
