This shop's cupcakes were not as good as the U Street location. They seemed dry and the flavors didn't really grab me. I am willing to try it again, just in case it was a bad day.
The proprietor of this cake shop seems to have a flair for promotion; unfortunately the cake we sampled in the Silver Spring shop was atrocious, basically a big, heavy glob of sugar and butter on a plate. None of the subtlety nor refinement one would expect from someone professing to "love" cakes.
Ok, I read and reread these comments. I had tried the cupcakes before and was certain that they must have changed based on what was written here. I was wrong. The cupcakes were dry, try Sahara Desert dry. The frosting was great, but not great enough to disguise the poor cupcake.
