A soul food place that's worth the wait.

I decided to try this restaurant based on the positive review it had gotten in the Post. Unfortunately, I ran into the same thing the previous reviewer did -- a long wait for my order to be filled and general disorganization on the part of the counter staff. The food was indeed good, although everything that I ordered was nearly the exact same color of beige. The catfish could have used a bit more salt and pepper, though -- it was a bit bland. And the side dishes were overpriced (be warned that a small side dish is VERY small!). Although a decent choice for a home-cooked meal, this restaurant has room for improvement. With a little customer service training for its counter staff, though, this restaurant could really shine.
The food was great, when I finally got a chance to taste it. But the wait, 1.5 hours almost, isn't worth the time. It was nice that free samples were extended to us, b/c I was ready to die from hungry, but the service needs to change..upgrade! I tried to call ahead, a couple of times but no one answered the phone. I visited the restaurant and the line was so long that I decided to come back later. Even though the line was shorter when I returned, the wait was challenging. Both the wait for your food & to place an order was to long. There was some disorganization. I ordered chicken & fish only. People behind me ordered more food & sides, but they got there orders before me. To many people were standing around. Food 4 stars, Svc 0!
