Located at the end of the world in St. Mary's County, Courtney's Restaurant & Seafood is a remnant of old Southern Maryland, and it keeps on keepin' on in the style of earlier times. Metal-roofed out buildings and camping trailers partially block the magnificent view of the lower Potomac River opening into the Chesapeake Bay. No frills, no nonsense, no tablecloths and no credit cards: just a crab cake that's worth the drive. Everyone knows about it - the military guys, a group of women from St. Mary's College, construction workers and the watermen we saw at lunch a couple of weeks ago. Don't miss a stop at Courtney's when you're down that way.
