With takeout, a small cafe and a wine bar, there's something for anyone to whom food matters.

The din in this place is enough to give you headache and forget about a conversation. The food is very average, yet overpriced.
I really want to like FM. They have a good concept and the owners seem to care greatly about eating locally and slowly, even down to sponsoring/participating in a local CSA farm. But a recent brunch there left me feeling a ill, ripped off, and not a little deafened. My wife's omelet started at $7.95, with anything extra (i.e., cheese) at $.75 per. It was swimming in oil and there was a quite a bit of uncooked egg left on the plate. I ordered site-made granola with yogurt. It was excellent, but for $6.95, I received about 1/2 cup of each. A side of hashbrowns was $5, not a great value. The place was half full but with nothing on the walls and a concrete floor, it was uncomfortably loud. We'll try again, but there's room to improve.
My friend and I ordered a few dishes to share for dinner; their mussel & white bean salad, assorted cheese platter, lentil burger w/ hand-cut fries, and grilled rainbow trout w/ carrot-ginger puree. Everything was prepared well, and it was very fresh and delicious. The decor reminded me of a cafeteria or fast food establishment in that it was vast and open, with sealed concrete floors. The service was friendly and the atmosphere casual. I like their concept of eating local and in season, and look forward to enjoying more meals there as their menu evolves.
