The Food section rated this restaurant's crab cake for a July 2009 story about the area's best.
Volume is the first word that comes to mind, especially as you watch double-breasted platters with a full pound of crab cakes whoosh by while you wait. Ninety percent of the customers who fill this 299-seat restaurant order the somewhat-secret-recipe, available-by-mail-order, award-winning behemoths. These crab cakes are broiled to an almost-souffled state and remain moist inside thanks to egg, mayonnaise, mustard, Old Bay, Worcestershire sauce and a smattering of fresh bread crumbs. They deliver the full-on taste of sweet crab (Venezuelan), with classic flavor. Hard to beat.
Eight-ounce jumbo-lump crab cake, $16.95; two crab cakes, $24.50

NASTY, NASTY, NASTY = G&M Restaurant - Most people concern themselves only with portion/taste of FOOD; I concern myself with the cleanliness. After a brief exchange and the manager pulling the “Let me call the police” card, my other party pays for the food. This mgr forced us to pay for filty...DIRTY SILVERWARE!! Please, will NEVER return to eat at this establishment again.
Knowing how much we love them, our daughter's boyfriend ordered 4 crab cakes to be delivered to our DC home a few days after Christmas -- and my husband and I invited friends over to share. I don't know why I had a funny feeling when the day arrived, but I called the restaurant to check and was told -- bluntly and with NO apology -- that FedEx was backed up and I could either change the date or cancel the order. I said I'd call them back, which I did, a few days later. I was then told, with a verbal shrug, that the order was cancelled and they'd have to be reordered. So the boyfriend placed the order again and called me with a new delivery date -- yesterday. Burned once, I called to check, and now they had no record of the order. Again no a
