Let me first say that Capital Grille is my favorite steak place and remains so after a few different experiences and meals at J&G. That being said, J&G is superb. The atmosphere is incredible - highly trendy but also cozy if that makes sense. We've been during the week when it's not as busy, as well as on a Saturday night during holiday season when it was jam-packed. My only complaint is that my steak has always been undercooked if I order it medium rare - it always comes out VERY rare. So I've started ordering it medium and it comes out as medium rare - this is a faux pas for a major steakhouse. But the food always tastes amazing and the calamari, while cliche for an appetizer, is sooo worth it. Definitely will return again!
Outstanding food, but just awful on service. 2-3 years in the business and they still stink. Unsat for a restaurant of this caliber/price. We've tried them three times, trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but we're done with them. Last night was the worst, wife and I had an 8:30 reservation, request for table on the side, 45 minutes LATER we got the largest table in the MIDDLE of the restaurant. Great setting for a romantic dinner with my wife. No apologies from staff. Many subtier sophomoric service errors throughout. Elitist attitude among staff. No more chances...our business goes elsewhere.
