I agree with this review. The only bright spot on my recent stop here was the fried pickles with dipping sauce. The lobster mac & cheese was basically the mac and the meat of one old lobster claw thrown in for fun. The wait staff appeared to be on another planet. Our waiter admitted he "totally zoned out" when he asked my companion how she liked her cheese steak cooked (which she did not order in the first place). Getting a refill was next to impossible. I would only return as a late night stop for some greasy apps.
I've had several great dinners at Kitchen, and never left with a single complaint. In fact, I've never left with anything other than leftovers. I don't even know what exactly it is that makes me keep going back. Warm atmosphere. Cool cocktails. Incredible food. Awesome service. I even sent my compliments to the chef, which is something I've never done and find a bit silly. Now, I admit I stick to the basics because I'm originally from NC, and lobster mac-n-cheese is neither soul food nor Southern. Still, you really can't beat the price. Mr. Sietsema must have dined at here on an off night, because I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kitchen to all of my friends!
We went a few weeks back to this new spot in Glover Park. I was extremely excited to try some good old comfort food. The appetizer was bland. The lobster mac n cheese tasted like it came out of a can and to top it off the manager inappropriately disciplined the bar staff over our heads while we were dining. We will not be returning.
