The portion of the seafood tasting menu was perfect for two people. Individually the dishes ranged from quite tasty to seriously troubling. The fried calamari rings were good, but the tentacles were so overcooked they were almost inedible. The fried peppers and onions were a nice pairing to the calamari. The sauteed shrimp were fine, but unremarkable, and the scallops were delicious. The salmon was also quite tasty. The paella was unremarkable, and we didn't end up finish it. The salad was a nice light finish to the meal, with some nice sweet notes of the dates. Overall -- an enjoyable meal, but nothing particularly notable.
I was there with a friend one day and the sangria was pretty good....and have to admit, STRONG! I love sangria so it was a great idea for the night. good service, not too crowded and the food was good as well. I'd recommend the one on 7th St to anyone who likes sangria.
Really had an awful experience at the Rockville La Tasca. The food is okay, the sangria is weak, but the real issue was how poorly we were treated by both the manager and the waiter. I'm a waitress and always leave huge tips, but they were so rude we got into a huge confrontation. If you order a paella the menu says "two person MINIMUM" so we ordered 1 to split between the 3 of us. When the bill came out, they charged us for 2 paellas (2 x $20)and were acting like the menu said "two person MAXIMUM". We approached it like they made an innocent mistake, but the manager kept escalating the confrontation. The waiter got an attitude and was disrespectful and the manager didn't say anything to correct his behavior. AWFUL! Truly embarrassing.
