Lalibela makes you feel as if you were in an Ethiopian home. The servers are so genuinely friendly; they always have a smile on their faces. There is usually a soccer game on the TV or a performer that has everyone's rapt attention. The beverages, including the tea, are very tasty. The only exception is the Ethiopian beer. It is very ordinary. The customers are predominantly Ethiopian and that is a clue to how good the food is. I should have mentioned this earlier. At the door there is one step down. It can surprise you if don't pay attention. Lalibela has a genuine Ethiopian pedigree. And that is why it is a must to dine there. **** Four stars!
The management will jump to accommodate any seating needs or food requirements. They are the most friendly of staff, that actually will explain the food items to you. This place is the real deal when it comes to Ethiopian personalities. Whether it is a famous singer from back in Ethiopia visiting or a famous athelete or artist, they stop by Lalibela to meet their fellow countrymen. Great latenight entertainment featuring diverse customers and traditional music.
