Just south of Dupont Circle, glossy two-story dining room serves excellent duck and cornish game hens a la City Lights of China of old.

This is one of my family favor restaurant. Meiwah not only serves excellent, fresh Chinese foods, they also have great service. The waitress and waiter were extremely pleasant. We have not had a bad meal there for the last five years.
After 30 minutes of being in the restaurant, my friend and I noticed that the waitress was walking by every 3 minutes and giving us dirty looks. When the owner joined in giving us the dirty looks, I asked him (at 45 mins in) if there was a time limit for tables? He stated that they were trying to run a business here and there were people waiting. He further said: I am not telling you to leave but you are taking a long time. With that remarkable rudeness, we got up to leave. On the way out, I told him we were never coming back here again and that we were appalled by the treatment. He then noted that we had taken a long time the last time that we were there. Remarkable.
I've always had a great time and good food here. They are eager to please and the service is good, for parties of 2 or 10.
This is my experience w/ Meiwah's customer service: 1.) pick up food, discover that i received the wrong food 2.) call meiwah to explain and inquire about a refund 3.) be told, 3 times, a refund and the proper dish would be provided if i was to return to the restaurant 4.) no apology. tell meiwah that i would return in 15 min for refund and food 5.) arrive. wait for the "chef" to verify his mistake. 6.) wait 10 minutes for the food 7.) ask about the promised refund 8.) told that no refund was ever promised. 9.) dispute 10.) have food taken away and incorrect food returned 11.) confused. talk to manager who raises voice and denies refund. 12.) promise never to return 13.) manager says he doesn't care. threatens to call police AVOID, I will
