A specialty at this longtime Adams Morgan Mexican restaurant is the rice and beans plate that comes with guacamole, salad and two tacos (one beef, one pork) for $10. Most entrees range between $5 and $10. Keep in mind that Mixtec boasts loudly about its margaritas, so don't be shy.

Delicious Food for a Great Price

The food is delicious, particularly the tamales. Pleasantly surprised to see fried ripe plaintain in the menu. The margaritas were awesome. The waitress was friendly and helpful.

Mixtec has always been a very basic restaurant, with good simple food. They make a wonderful mole, excellent tacos, and good sangria. The staff is pleasant and efficient.
