Large party was seated promptly, and wait staff was attentive, but a bit inexperienced. Dishes were served lukewarm, though that may have been related to the size of the party (10), or perhaps the distance from the kitchen. The food was good, but just did not seem to justfy the price. Several sauces were overly salty to the point of being inedible. Wise diners requested sauces on the side.
An exquisite dining gem, right here in our backyard. This is NOT like the many chain eateries in the area. Chef John D. presents well thought out seafood dishes and tasty sides. The pastry chef is a true artist! The staff is attentive, without hovering. Recently we enjoyed the freshest Salmon from Scotland and Scallops stuffed with Crab and crisp salads with a hint of Asian inspired flavorings. The entrees were paired with the yummiest potatoes whipped with sweet onions. Dessert was artfully presented by our waiter – White Chocolate Mousse stacked on Lace Praline Cookies Drizzled with warm dark Chocolate – perfection in every bite! Enjoy YOUR experience at Monterey Bay Fish Grotto, WE will be returning AGAIN and AGAIN!
Very well done all around
