We went here the other night for dinner and were very pleased. The dishes here feature interesting combinations of flavors without being fussy or overdone. Things were cooked just right: the vegetables were tender yet still a bit crisp; the trout had a crisp skin and a moist, tender interior. And each dish presented a nice array of vibrant flavors. The service was attentive. The dishes were moderately pricy, with entres around $20. I don't know why WaPo describes the cuisine as Tapas. It is definitely a standard nouveau American menu.
My boyfriend and I live in the neighborhood and finally tried Napa 1015. He had the lamb, tagine style, and loved it. The sauce was flavorful and complex and the lamb tender. I had the gnocci. That was much more simple though still yummy. Service was friendly but a little spotty. The waiter a little heavy handed on trying to sell us on the three course deal. We were both DC Restaurant Week-ed out and needed something basic. He also brought the check while we were having dessert. Neither were a big deal but servers could use some more training. Overall, a really lovely place and fantastic food.
