Pit Boys is a classic down-home barbecue place, close to downtown Annapolis. Located between West Street and Forest Drive in a small white frame building, Pit Boys specializes in pit-cooked beef and pork, though its menu also includes pit-cooked ham and turkey, salads, soups, and side dishes including potato salad, coleslaw and macaroni and cheese. There is no seating inside, and there are just a few parking places outside. The pulled pork sandwich I had needed more fire in the sauce, but it was more than okay, considering it didn't require a drive to the farther reaches of the county. Now, I want to go back and try the hog wings -- pork shanks prepared like hot wings. Warning: Pit Boys is open only for breakfast and lunch.
