I was feeling a little negative when we got there: the reservation process, really? But my perfect evening at Restaurnat Eve won me over. The food was wonderful, of course...but lets move on: The tasting room tables aren't squished up next to each other, yeah! It makes your dinner quieter and it feels private. The decor is Sumptuous, playful, and sensual. How delightful that is, how suitable to an enjoyable meal, and why don't more restaurants do this? Everything about Eve says "we want you to enjoy your evening with us."
Agree with "Overblown's" comments. Pretentious, overpriced and forgetable. Also, if you are not seated at the "chef's table" you're shunned and treated as if you have a serious communicable disease. I pass on a second visit; the first showed me enough disappointment.
Seven course tasting menu, let the chef pick with wine pairings. The meal became ten courses thanks to the little extras. Food was presented in a serious, formal way. The pairings came prior to each plate with a short description about the maker, included ales, wines, and a port. The food was delicious but heavy. The "main" courses were very meat heavy, so much so that I could only eat a bite or two to leave room for the rest to come. One course, the lamb chop was very tough and difficult to chew. best - the Guinness cake with the paired cheese and pumpkin seed brittle. Would consider going again but would choose the seafood selections to avoid the heaviness.
