Went back to Ripple last night with several friends. Each time I go, I love it more. It's one of those places that makes you feel like you're a regular, even if you're not. The atmosphere is lively, but you can still hold a good conversation. The staff is wonderfully well versed in both food and beverage offerings, and conducts themselves with a quiet, easy professionalism that makes you feel at home, but also extremely well tended. And there aren't enough words of praise for the food. Last night's meal was met with gasps of delight as each dish was tasted. Favorite starters included the gnocchi with basil broth, the quinoa risotto, and the pumpkin soup. Rockfish was a winning entree and the strip loin was about as good as it gets.
With delicious food, fantastically friendly service, and the best drinks in the city it's hard to know where to start a review. I've decided to start this review the way I start most nights at Ripple, with their fantastic french fries and homemade ketchup, truly something special. Usually an evening just gets better with inventive cocktails and to-die for mains (the pork belly and duck are favorites). I can't leave out the service. The kitchen doesn't hesitate to alter a dish to accommodate dietary restrictions and our server even surprised my pregnant friend with a virgin cocktail when our round of drinks arrived. Here the staff treats you like family.
We loved dinner at Ripple--what an extraordinarily interesting menu, and it changes often. Our server was perfect: friendly, helpful, and not too in-our-face. We let the staff pick out the cheeses that we had for dessert--exceptional! The interior face-lift worked well. We will be back often.
