Dark and romantic, the small dining room looks unlike any other Japanese restaurant in the city.

Went there Sat. night, not very busy, why the food took 50 min. to get there is beyond me, the 1st course calamari that I asked about what so salty and overcooked that I could not eat it, The sushi was very good, but the beef was a load of overcooked crap that I would not serve to my dog if she was still alive. Most professional waitress would have tried to calm the problems that we had, but instead she had an attitude that we had intruded on her space and stopped serving us. The other waitress that finished our table was excellent. Nobody seems to care here, when I called when I arrived at home the manager could not come to the phone because he was handling a problem at a table.. maybe the same girl.
It is a serious problem when a place called "sake club" does not have sake. On our first visit they informed us they did not have many of the fish items we had ordered, including toro tuna. They ran out of the ultra premium sake we were drinking. On our second visit a week later we were told by the manager on our arrival they had our desired fish dishes, including toro tuna(which he remebered). We then found they had not restocked our desired sake, and we were told they "would" not sell the toro tuna to us for reasons which differed between different staff members. Sushi was more than passible, although some specialty rolls are too large for one bite. The lack of some items, especially the sake, was very disappointing.
very good service and above average food presentation. the sushi and udon soup were delicious. This place is very cozy and nice for meetings or birthday party as well.
