We ordered the delicious Americana pizza but I choked on a four inch loop of what looked like plastic. It was like swallowing a rubber band. The next piece came from a slice that didn't have a pepperoni on it. The waiter was very polite and explained that it was the eatable casing on the pepperoni. The owner very cavalierly dismissed me and explained that it would dissolve(not in cooking evidently) and he eats it all the time. This is wrong in so many ways that I will leave it for him to eat.
I really love this place. I've been going here since it opened and always found the owner and the entire staff to be completely charming and fun and lighthearted. I'm so sorry about the other person's experience, but I really dig this place. PLEASE try the lasagna!
Sorriso serves northern Italian food, so don't expect the more common Neopolitan style. The pizzas a thin and crisp, but the restaurant really shines in the entrees. Try the Mediterranean sea bass, or the grilled sardines. Or anything with polenta.
Sorriso is a lovely little neighborhood place with friendly staff, friendly owners, and pleasant clientele. The food is good, especially the pizza and the specials. It's a nice place for a casual dinner.
