It's a neighborhood hangout where rolled up T-shirt sleeves, Harley tattoos, blue jeans and boots are the preferred dress code.
Sorry, but the "quick take" doesn't do it justice. Been going there over 12 years. Good food and a good variety of it, reasonable choice of beers (even to non-alcoholic St. Pauli Girl) and mixed drinks, good prices; an honest place that attracts everybody from bikers to working class to professionals, and all mix in a friendly and relaxed way. One of the last real neighborhood bars around. Live bands (various) most nights, some with Wammie and Grammy pedigreed members. Thursday nights are best, IMHO, for meeting the best variety of folk, and for the best music, Johnny Castle's Thrillbillys (sic). Johnny's the bassist with the Nighthawks, and formerly with Bill Kirchen of Commander Cody & the Lost Planet Airmen. Dance floor, darts, more.
