Have eaten at Zaytinya at least a dozen times over the past few years. The food, drinks, and service are consistently excellent. Order two or three dishes per person (lamb is great, ottoman rice is wonderful, hummus is delicious, the great hot bread just keeps on coming). Wonderfully friendly and helpful wait-staff. The place is attractive. Have never been disappointed with a meal here. This place does it right ! !
Zaytinya is certainly a special occasion type of restaurant for those of us who don't blow huge amounts of money regularly on fancy meals, but even so its luxury is affordable. The food is simply unbelievably good -- everything I've eaten there has been delicious. The Hommos of course is creamy and flavorful, the roasted cauliflower is nutty and complimented by sweet sultans, the cheese plate is delicious (although not the best bang-for-buck), the seared salmon, sauteed shrimp, and seared scallops are all amazing, and the midyes are addicting. The Hunkar begendi is also beautifully roasted and the eggplant sauce is rich and delicious. I also enjoy their mixed drinks. Dessert is not usually worth it, given all the other delicious options.
