Zen, Tea, and Chinese art in Medieval Japan

Two exhibitions open Saturday at the Freer. In the first, Chinese and Japanese paintings, lacquerware and ceramics show how Chinese arts and ideas influenced medieval Japan between 1192 and 1867.
