A Capitol Fourth and fireworks on the Mall

No other experience better sums up the phrase "the patchwork quilt of America." Plant your blanket on the Mall on the Fourth of July, and by the time the fireworks start at 9:10 p.m., you'll be surrounded by people of all backgrounds united in celebration. At 8 p.m., the National Symphony Orchestra, Kool & the Gang and Javier Colon, last year's winner of "The Voice," will be among the performers in "A Capitol Fourth" concert, which concludes with the fireworks and the 1812 Overture. The National Mall Between the U.S. Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial, Washington, DC | 202-485-9880
