Editorial Review

Just south on the Potomac River, not long after you pass the Maryland-D.C. border, sits National Harbor, the waterfront resort that aims for a Washington neighborhood vibe with live jazz and an outdoor market. You can walk the waterfront, grab a bite and shop (if you're so inclined). And you can get quite a view of that city that you still haven't set foot in, to boot. It's even more of a Washington-outside-Washington place now that it's home to "The Awakening," the cast aluminum sculpture that was moved from Hains Point in the District in 2008.
