It's not hard to see why Betsy Fisher, the woman behind the store, has a devoted following. Attractive, personable and energetic, she steers her customers toward clothes she thinks they'll like and -- equally important -- will be flattering to them.
With a customer base of women attorneys, journalists and other business owners, Fisher offers an inventory that necessarily covers a wide range of choices ("We're not full of tiny black clothes," she jokes), which includes conservative, tailored outfits as well as trendy and stylish separates for her mostly urban clients.
Look for labels like Jenne Maag, Shin Choi, Marella and Vivienne Tam.
