Dien Do, who runs this small shop in Georgetown, prides himself on the word-of-mouth referrals he gets from such high-end establishments as Gucci, Versace and Barney's New York.

Average prices: men's and women's pants $10, $15 with cuff/lining; waistband $20; sleeves $25; straight skirt hem $20. Most alterations completed in three to four days; one-hour service available.
