Editorial Review

When you own 85 pairs of shoes, as Sassy Jacobs does, you become a connoisseur of in-store selections. So, it's no surprise that when Jacobs, 27, and pal Sarah Cannova, 28, moved from the Big Apple to the nation's capital in July 2002, they weren't delighted by what they found in most shops. According to Jacobs, "there were great boutique brands missing," like Marc Jacobs, Betty Muller, Emma Hope. Figuring that if they needed their fix, so did a lot of other women, the duo created Sassanova, a high-end accessories boutique in Georgetown. The shop, all chocolate and pink with cheetah carpet and crystal chandeliers, will carry shoe lines including Michael Kors, Sigerson Morrison, Beverly Feldmand and Lily Holt; handbags from Rafe New York, Lorelei and Lauren Merkin; and jewelry from Femmegems.
