Savannah's of Leesburg

Editorial Review

Those who gravitate toward glittery Christmas ornaments, pumpkin-scented candles and potpourri like a moth to a flame should not leave Leesburg without stopping at Savannah's, a home decor shop on King Street. A walk through the shop even weeks before Thanksgiving yielded bedazzled Christmas trees, lush holiday wreaths and ornate Mark Roberts fairies for each of the 12 days of Christmas (the six geese-a-laying doll was a personal favorite).

The store -- housed in an old converted mansion with a still-functional dumbwaiter in the corner -- also stocks such non-holiday fare as antique lamps, tableware and sweets. (For more non-holiday household items, check out Savannah's sister store around the corner, Downs & Co.) Come spring, Savannah's will start carrying a new mix of seasonal fresh scents and bright colors. But for now, the store remains the Leesburg capital of red and green for all your holiday decorating needs.
