The chromatic painter’s large- and small-scale works — made with unorthodox tools, such as leaf blowers and spray guns — are on display at American University and George Washington University.
Jules Olitski was a Ukranian-born New York artist who experimented with texture and color. His painting “With Love and Disregard” references philosopher William James and is a part of his final series. It is on display in “Revelation: Major Paintings by Jules Olitski” at the American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center. ©Jules Olitski estate/Photo: Michael Cullen Buy Photo
