Redskins fans (and the grills at FedEx Field) are fired up for the NFL playoffs

When we wrote about tailgating before the first Redskins home game of the season on Sept. 23, we said:

“What lies ahead: eight home games, spirited renditions of “Hail to the Redskins” and completely unrealistic expectations. (We’re talking about Redskins fans, after all.)”

So much for the “unrealistic” part. As the NFC East champions prepare to host the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. — the team’s first home playoff game since Jan. 2000 — we’re dusting off our preseason tailgating tips as fans gear up for a postseason trip to the Landover lots, for a chilly afternoon of pregame cooking, singing and swilling.
