We have an immediate opening for a Full Time Manager, Mortgage Loan Operations position at our Alexandria, Virginia location.

 

Monitors the daily activities of the Operations sections of the Mortgage department among assigned locations ensuring the timely and accurate completion of section responsibilities within established guidelines. In addition, handles incoming calls and email communications from members and initiates contact with members and prospective members soliciting mortgages and related PFCU products.

 

Essential Duties:

 

Maintains general oversight of one or more of the following mortgage functions in assigned branches; origination and processing of 1st mortgage products, origination and processing of 2nd mortgage products, closing, post-closing, servicing, underwriting, outside sales, loan packaging and sales, and/or compliance and training.

Oversees the daily work of assigned staff, scheduling and assigning work on a daily basis and providing guidance to staff on complex issues.

Serves as daily contact for interaction between mortgage department for the assigned functions and branches and other internal PFCU departments, and vendors.

Responsible for assigned projects designed to streamline and automate systems and process, bench marking to develop best practices, and so on.

Remains current on a variety of the mortgage field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.

Assesses operational, economic and service quality risk associated with operations and recommends appropriate action as required.

Provides technical and functional expertise for use in automated system utilization and problem resolution.

Assists in recruiting, training and continuing professional development of mortgage services personnel.

Special Requirements

 

Baccalaureate degree in a related field or a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions.

A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Five years of progressively responsible related work experience, preferably in mortgage operations or consumer lending, required.

Proven track record of effective supervisory experience required.

Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

Experience in utilizing automated loan servicing systems or aptitude to learn systems, required.

MLO Requirements

Must register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLA).

Must obtain unique identifier required for MLOs.

Must maintain the registration in accordance with PenFed policy and all related regulations.

Physical Requirements:

• Must possess mobility and stamina to work in a standard office setting.
• Employees must be able to use standard office equipment including, but, not limited to computer, printer, and calculator.
• Employee may have to lift items up to 30 pounds.
• Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• May need the ability to raise arms about their head.
• Must be able to bend to file documents and retrieve filed documents.
• Adequate hearing and speech to communicate with our members and/or staff on the phone or in person.
