The Rappahannock Council Against Sexual Assault is seeking a volunteer coordinator. The position will be offered as an internship (possibly for college credit or requirements) or as a volunteer opportunity.
Summary of Position: The volunteer coordinator will retain and recruit volunteers for RCASA.
Overview of Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Keep volunteers updated on volunteer opportunities
Attend community fairs
Receive and Review volunteer applications
Notify volunteers and applicants of upcoming training sessions
Post flyers, hand out brochures, and posters advertising RCASA services and Volunteer Program
Track volunteer hours
Completion of 40 hours of volunteer training
Must be willing to learn
Must commit 8 hours per week
Attention to detail
Ability to work independently
Ability to be a self-starter
Opportunity to enhance professional skills
Develop nonprofit management experience
Enhancement of skills for use in the workplace
Opportunity to network with community partners and staff members
This will require an initial 5 hours per week commitment, then moving up to 10 hours after the first month.
