Our client, one of the top law firms in Washington DC, is looking for an experienced Network Engineer/Network Manager. This is a direct hire opportunity.
Network Manager: Responsible for maintaining and upgrading the firm's Computer systems and infrastructure, all LAN/WAN based systems, all network operations to include the COIP system and Unity. Manage the installation and upgrades of network server hardware and software related components.
Manage the installation and upgrades network infrastructure components including switches, hubs, routers and remote access devices. Manage engineering group activities to include staff assignments, computer operations, data center activities project assignments for the purpose of providing computer services to the firm while meeting department goals and objectives. Manage the activities with external vendors as it relates to WAN/LAN systems, phone systems, hardware support and maintenance, and vendor relations. Design computer networks, physical and logical network infrastructure, servers, storage, and virtualization for the purpose of ensuring effective and efficient operating systems. Use network and systems management software to monitor and configure network devices. Manage server backup systems to ensure all data is recoverable. Oversee maintenance, installation, upgrades and troubleshooting of the Firm's Internet connectivity, including firewalls, proxy servers and related devices, as well as coordinate with the Firm's ISP for connectivity issues. Liaison with WAN connectivity vendors to resolve WAN connectivity issues. Ten years experience in network systems support and installation, including server hardware and network operating systems software. Five years of managerial/supervisory experience. Eight years experience in network infrastructure support and installation. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/MIS or equivalent certification from an accredited technical training school or equivalent (4 years) experience in general MIS/computer support. Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification required.
Vmware & SAN/NAS experience required. Cisco Certified Network Admin (CCNA) Certification preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.
