Calling all social innovators and people passionate about changing the world - starting in our own community!
Community Ladders, a social business providing middle and low income Americans with consumer protection and financial planning services, seeks an Information Technology Security Consultant to assist the organization in a holistic data security assessment of systems in use and additional software and hardware that may be considered. The staff of Community Ladders handles personal and sensitive documents and is currently seeking an independent assessment of current and future systems. The Consultant will help the organization adopt best practices. Although security is paramount, the Consultant must also consider usability and efficiency in making recommendations.
If so inclined, the Consultant may write for the organization's blog and newsletter on consumer IT protection issues.
Working alongside the core, mainly-volunteer leadership of this social start-up (we say 'start-up,' but we are actually in our fourth year), the IT Security Consultant will be integral to the continued success of the organization. This promises to be a rewarding opportunity to help improve a social enterprise that directly impacts and improves people's lives.
About Community Ladders
Angry about the financial crisis? So are we, and we're doing something about it.
Community Ladders is a Washington, D.C. area social business providing middle- and low-income Americans with consumer protection and financial planning services typically available only to the rich. Offering a completely new approach to personal finance, we are challenging the status quo with two game-changing offerings:
1) Professional financial planning services at prices affordable for every age and income: Up until now, independent financial planning services have really only been available to the wealthy at a cost of thousands of dollars. Our model makes affordable, long-term financial coaching possible.
2) An unbiased advocate for members. By avoiding conflicts of interest, we are able to advise people and help them protect their wealth and financial wellbeing. Some people have trusted family member that can give financial advice. That's basically what Community Ladders does, without the weird family issues.
