This position is located in our MD, Baltimore facility



GDIT is seeking a program manager with expertise in the installation, maintenance, repair, redesign and alteration of hull, electrical, and mechanical systems for marine applications to support the U.S. Coast Guard's (USCG) Medium Endurance Cutter Product Line (MECPL) and the Service Life Extension Project (SLEP) for the USCG Cutter EAGLE. The candidate will be assigned as the Program Manager and will have sole responsibility of all management, customer relations, and technical aspects of the task. The candidate must be versed in all aspects of Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) support. Our leader must have practical knowledge of USCG Cutter shipboard systems and equipment, with at least 5 years of experience in engineering project management as related to marine vessel alterations (preferable USCG) and 10 years' experience in the marine field (preferably with the USCG).

Program Management Responsibilities:
1. Provides technical, administrative, and operational management of assigned projects.
2. Develops technical project plans, reports, and administrative reporting.
3. Reviews future project requirements and develops strategies for future work.
4. May also perform high level technical services on assigned tasks.
5. Conducts planning and provides recommendations to client on task workload.
6. Attends customer meetings and serves as primary client liaison.
7. Interacts with vendors, other agencies, and other client staff on behalf of the client.
8. Coordinates development of deliverables and products.
9. Ensures quality assurance of project deliverables.
10. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
11. Participates in special projects as required.


1. Bachelor's Degree in a related engineering, business or technical discipline
2. Professional certification (PMP) preferred.


1. 10-12 years of related experience, including supervisory experience.
2. Have detailed knowledge of principles, practices and techniques of ship repair, including dry docking, dock and sea trials, non-destructive testing and other principles, practices and techniques unique to the marine industry.
3. Have knowledge and experience in conducting ship repair availabilities. The contractor support personnel must be able to climb ladders, access voids and small shipboard spaces for the purpose of identifying needed hull, mechanical and electrical (HM&E) repairs and assessing proposed alterations.
4. Have a working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation, and applicability to ship repair contracts.
5. Have a working knowledge of commercial and military standards. A working knowledge of Coast Guard Instructions and logistics tools is beneficial.

3. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The work is typically performed in an office environment and at client site locations (including USCG Cutters and shipyards), which requires proper safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment. Walking, standing and sitting for extended period of time is required. The candidate must be able to climb ladders, access voids and small shipboard spaces.
