Palestine Works seeks a volunteer web designer to redesign and maintain its Wordpress-based site.
The designer will be responsible for revamping the interface and developing online-application and online-donation capabilities. The designer will also be responsible for updating the website weekly with news, photos, video, and submissions from our participants, alumni, partner organizations and supporters. The designer may be based anywhere in the world, but must work well without constant supervision and produce consistent results. Good communication with our staff is a must.
Advocates for Palestinian equal rights are encouraged to apply, as are recent graduates looking to build their portfolios.
About Palestine Works
Palestine Works is a new US-based nonprofit founded by diaspora Palestinians to promote Palestinian human development.
Our vision is a Palestinian society that can enjoy the economic, social and political benefits of a strong economy, one powered by the development and deployment of Palestinian human capital.
Our mission is to help realize this vision by developing and harnessing the expertise of young professionals by creating high-impact knowledge transfer opportunities, including internships, conferences, publications and networking.
Our first initiative, the Law Fellowship Project, connects law students and recent law graduates with organizations that protect human rights and promote development among Palestinians in the Occupied Territory and Palestinian citizens of Israel. We recruit qualified and committed Law Fellows for summer internships with our 20 partner organizations in Palestine and Israel. We help our partners make the most of our Law Fellows by ensuring that the internship is well-planned, the Fellow is well-prepared, and the Fellow's work is well-supervised. We also enhance the internship experience with an orientation conference, weekend and evening programs, and networking events throughout the summer.
We are currently in our second year of the Law Fellowship Project, which will soon be expanded to include academic-year externships, post-graduate fellowships, and remote internships.
